Gabriel B.

Marion  |  Troop 6026

Project Beneficiary: Marion County Dog Pound

Gabriel’s project involved constructing a new fenced-in area at the Marion County Dog Pound to improve the facility’s functionality and safety for both the dogs and staff. In addition to building the enclosure, Gabriel removed two gates from the center of the existing kennels and replaced them with fencing to create a more secure and efficient layout. To further enhance the facility, Gabriel also installed staging areas at each outdoor kennel, allowing one dog to be let in or out without the risk of other dogs escaping. Through this project, Gabriel contributed to a safer and more organized environment, ultimately improving the well-being of the animals and the efficiency of the shelter's operations.

This project, benefiting the Edison Enterprise Food Pantry, involved constructing a one-yard concrete slope to improve accessibility for individuals using wheelchairs. The slope ensures a smoother and safer entrance, making it easier for those with mobility challenges to access the building. Additionally, the concrete surface helps prevent gravel from being tracked inside, maintaining a cleaner and more functional space for both visitors and staff. By enhancing accessibility and improving the facility’s overall usability, this project supports the Edison Enterprise Food Pantry in better serving the community.

In addition to these improvements, Caden also arranged for the donation of a picnic bench that he built in school. This project aimed to create a safer and more accessible environment for individuals with disabilities, ensuring they could enter the building with ease. The renewed awning revitalized the entrance, enhancing the church’s appearance, while the addition of the picnic table provided a welcoming space for fellowship and community gatherings.

Marion  |  Troop 6046

Project Beneficiary: River Valley Baseball

Aaron is tearing out the old benches in several River Valley dugouts and replacing them with new, high-quality ones. In addition to the bench replacements, Aaron is installing a baseball bat and helmet rack to help keep the dugouts organized. The new benches will be securely attached to the existing metal structure, ensuring durability and stability. Two long benches need to be built, with most of the construction likely taking place off-site before installation. Through this project, Aaron is enhancing the functionality and comfort of the dugouts, creating a better experience for players and teams using the facilities.

Chloe P.

Marion  |  Troop 6950

Project Beneficiary: Marion County Dog Pound

Chloe's project involves building a new dog run for the Marion County Dog Pound. The previous dog run was converted into additional kennels due to the increasing number of dogs in need of shelter. By constructing a dedicated space for dogs to exercise and play, this project will greatly benefit the shelter. A dog run provides much-needed outdoor time for the dogs, helping to improve their physical health, reduce stress, and enhance their chances of adoption by allowing them to socialize and expend energy. This addition will make a positive impact on both the dogs and the staff, creating a more enriching and efficient environment for their care.
