Zane A.

Bolivar  |  Troop 5086

Project Beneficiary: Village of Bolivar

Zane led a project to improve the Bolivar Cemetery, enhancing its historical significance and honoring U.S. veterans. The existing site featured a sign, two trees, and home plates, but Zane worked to upgrade the area by building a new stainless steel sign, planting two yellow dwarf arborvitaes, and installing a cement pad and a bench. His project provided a lasting tribute to the history of Bolivar and those who served, creating a more welcoming and respectful space for visitors to reflect and pay their respects.

Matthew B.

Gnadenhutten  |  Troop 5429

Project Beneficiary: Perry Township

Matthew replaced the fencing around Grove Methodist Cemetery to restore its condition and prevent further damage. The original fence had become rundown and neglected, with cattle knocking over headstones and contributing to the site’s deterioration. The cemetery had also been overgrown with weeds, adding to its unkempt appearance. As part of his project, Matthew installed a new fence to keep cattle out and protect the headstones from further damage. He and his team also cleared the area to improve its overall appearance and accessibility. This project benefited the community and Tuscarawas County by preserving the cemetery’s history and ensuring it remained a well-maintained and respectful space for visitors.
